What inspired you to launch your own website?

After seeing a pixel ad website (I know there are loads out there!) which was an amazing miriad of colours and different sized ads with all sorts of daft pictures on them, I thought to myself what if there was something like this but it only had specific sized ads for one specific thing?

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We launched our first site when we started the business Rentaccomspain.com which provides a web portal for individuals and businesses in Spain to advertise their properties and services in Spain.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We toyed with loads of names but settled on Pixel Villas as we thought it sounded punchy enough and described the what the site was about quickly.

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Pixelvillas.com was born to allow people to advertise their Spanish property or business on a form of internet notice board and link it directly to their own site where they could do the proper selling job.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It's true, there a number of web portals already offering advertising space for your Spanish holiday home, be it for rent or for sale (albeit not many offer space for businesses on the same pages!).

The difference with us is that we offer a direct link to your own website (or show their contact details if you don't have one) from a high traffic site where visitors can find your ad's with a maximum of two clicks.

Our phylosophy is that if you have a website, then here is a perfect way to create extra traffic to it where your visitors can see all the details, photos and up-to-date prices etc. of your property.

Also, once you have created your pixel ad, you are able to make changes to it at any time for no extra cost via your own admin system.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our aims for this site is to fill each space with a pixel ad and create an ever-changing notice board for Spanish property / business owners.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Success is always balanced against resources (time & money being just two resources). Put more time or money in and more success will follow but it has to be put in wisely. There's no point in working all day and all night if you're making up adverts for magazines etc irrelevant top your site.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Advertise, promote, advertise, promote, etc, etc

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, no problem. The site is self running with pixel ad placements being done by the advertisers themselves and payments being taken automatically.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing in the way of unexpected but advertising the sites presence with a limited advertising budget is a headache.

What has been your biggest challenge?

See above re: headache

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Links and word of mouth so far.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

In the way that you should never assume, just because you know something (ie how to use it), that everyone else will.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been running for just two weeks but there is no reason why it cannot go on and on as it effectively runs itself with only a small input from us to check the ads meet our terms before activating them.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To provide new flourishing businesses with a limited budget to have a channel to advertise. We wanted to help new businesses create an image for themselves. Our aim is to indicate that advertising and great graphic design is not limited to those companies with a six figure advertising/marketing budget.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our first website was launched in April of 2006. It was full of petinent information that a business order may need to know for launching a campaign.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Using key elements of search engine optimization.

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Reptile Advertising & Design's site is targetted to new businesses that require advertising and design services at a great price. We offer graphic design, logo development, corporate identification, page layout and design, printing services, photography, copywriting, web design, search engine optimization. Whatever a new business requires in order to become established, we're here to help. We have helped businesses with existing campaigns to push it that much further.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Our prices and services are second to none. You are given a dedicated account manager to deal with and no one else. No having to leave a message with someone for someone else. From the get go, you have one point of contact to avoid miscommunication. Furthermore, we're here when you need us. 24 hours a day! No other agency offers such great service.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is the be the advertising agency of choice for new businesses in all of Ontario

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Our success is relative to happy our clients are. If our clients are not happy, then we are not happy. We work until we get it right.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Most agencies have a flashy website. But what does that prove? That they spent large amounts of money to develop a great site? Our site is clean and informative and is easy to naviagte. We would not change a thing. Unless it is uploaded new clients work, which we love to do.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Of course. Our dedication is to our clients and the great service that we provide to them.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Not enough time in the day!!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Outlining to propective clients what is required in order to successfully launch a great campaign. Many of our clients are foreign to the idea of graphic design, advertising and marketing. We try to customize a strategy that they can understand and be happy with.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Links Links Links!

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It allows us to communicate with our customers on their terms. It also allows our customers or prospected customers to view our work and use our site as a reference tool. We are able to refer them to our site for information or ideas instead of having hard copies of content with us.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Our site has officially been up for almost two years and it will be up for as long as our doors are open!
