Please give us a short summary of your website?
FloorBuffers.com offers high quality floor buffers, floor polishers, floor burnishers, and floor buffing accessories. We take pride in providing our customers with excellent service, fast shipping, and fair pricing. We stock a wide range of floor buffers from 12" all the way up to 20".
What inspired you to launch your own website?
To sell top quality floor buffers and floor burnishers at great prices, as well as floor buffing accessories.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
About a year ago (www.floorbuffers.com).
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It's simply the primary product we sell on our site.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Very easy to navigate. We have both an on-line help desk and a toll free phone number to ask questions and place orders.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To become the larges e-commerce site for floor buffing and polishing machines
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Very well. FloorBuffers.com offers great products with great cutomer support, so there's a great ROI for us to continue investing time improving and adding to the site.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We'd spend more time on developing great content on how to use floor buffers and how to maintain floor buffers. This database would be in addition to our great phone customer support.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Certainly!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Integrating some cgi scripts on the server.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding enough time to maintain and improve the site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Increasing our product offerings and building a site that the search engines love. This, in turn, increases our human visitors.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
None, really.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've managed the site for about 4 months now. We're always brainstorming on techniques to improve the content, "navigability", and search engine optimization.
