At Travel Site Critic, we are experts at booking travel online. We provide our readers with travel website reviews, ratings and deals. The team at Travel Site Critic reviews online travel sites based on the site reputation, usability, popularity, customer service, product selection, pricing, promotional offerings, booking fees and cancellation policies. What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have spent a nearly embarassing amount of time searching for travel deals online. My friends often ask me to find deals for them, as I typically find them a "sale" to wherever they are going. I know that there are some sites out there that have huge fees and burdensome cancellation policies, and we should avoid them. On the other hand, some sites are completely awesome and I wish everyone knew about them! I wish to share this info with the public and create a community of happy, smart, and informed travel shoppers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. I am a complete novice at this webmaster business.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was available, and I think it is cute.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I do not know of another website quite like it.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To build an online community.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning how to create the website itself (html..ect) and make the look and feel of my site suit the vision that I have for it. SEO is of course a challenge as well.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google Adwords.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Travel Site Critic began on June 5, 2008. We are quite new, and don't plan on going anywhere!
