Please give us a short summary of your website?
ThoughtOffice.com is designed to promote & support our ThoughtOffice Innovation Software. We provide online sales, training, and support at ThoughtOffice.com.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
An online presence was clearly the best way to promote and support ThoughtOffice software.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
More than a dozen years ago, and it was a regional ISP.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was taken directly from the name of the software - ThoughtOffice.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
There is currently no product that offers the depth and breadth of resources that ThoughtOffice has. IdeaFisher once came close, but we have taken it almost a quantum level beyond Marsh Fisher's program.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We plan to grow the product's market share, and make it a major player in the innovation and mind-mapping software space.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It's one of several projects, and I don't regret and instant of time or a penny of the money invested.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Add more training and support videos, improve our blog and support features, improve navigation... there's lots.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, we have contractors we can count on.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Development software purchases, hosting issues.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding enough time to devote to promoting and improving the site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It's somewhat more time-consuming.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been online over a year now, and has already increased its ranking on all search engines.
