Name of your website?

Lee J. Nixon - Impressionst Artist

Your name?

Lee J. Nixon

Your Location (city, etc)

Orange

When did you start your website and why?

The website serves as a vehicle to promote and show my paintings to thousands of interested people. The starting date was May 2007.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Nixon's Impressionist paintings reflect a need, care, and reverence for a serene earth, and the desire to share it with the viewer through color, pattern, and texture.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

I used a program that is based on what you see is what you get. It was difficult to master initially. Promoting the site is very time consuming, leaving me little time to paint.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

The easiest part is emailing various people I know and connecting to various links.

What was your biggest mistake?

I would say not having the right ftp address, which was a nightmare.

Who maintains your website and why?

I do, as an artist new paintings/images are contantly being downloaded. I could not afford to pay someone for every addition or change that is needed.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

I have received numerous emails of individuals expressing interest in my work from day one!

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

It is a great way of reaching people...people who are interested in your works of art.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

I have found my name both on google and yahoo in a matter of a week or two. They are two powerful engines to assist individuals seeking to find a product, in this case a painting.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Establishing links with other websites is the best way to promote a website.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Talking to individuals , as they quickly forget or lose interest.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

I will have to meditate on that a little more.

What is your website address?
