Duplex is a supplier of quality cleaning machines that cater for the business to business market. Our machines can often be found in the Aged Care, Hospital, Food Processing, Hotel/Bar and Education industries.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
To add value to the marketing efforts that we already in place. Also to give potential customers access to the information on our machines
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Duplex entered the web in 2005.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was relevant to the name of the company.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We have youtube videos and animations that explain our products more. We believe we have a more visual target audience and with our current design, we believe caters to their needs.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Duplex website is to generate leads into the business, which it has been doing very sucessfully this year!
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We have invested more time into the web and consequently had achieved a high volume of quality leads into the business.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would only change the menu navigation structure.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
So far we have generated 250% more leads into the business than last year and have more capacity to handle double what we are generating now.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Search engine Optimization. Not getting the keyword results we wanted.
What has been your biggest challenge?
SEO
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Directory sites and eBay.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
OUr expectations haven't changed. What we anticipated occured.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been running for three years. Its in its infancy stage and believe there are a few more generations of design to be done. The site will be running as long as the company is.
