When did you start your website and why?
March 2007. The need of a LGTB and other sexual minorities approach. Information about Uruguay not from a typical local nor from an expat but someone who can see both sides and take as much of a neutral position as possible.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
Site targeting LGTB community and welcoming of straight people as we do not want to include ourselves in any kind of segregation. Economic (general and business) as well as social climate description in Uruguay. We provide services for tourism and relocation guidance.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
Getting the right software to develop it and run it accurately. And also making bilingual most of the content.
What has been the easist past of operating your website?
Finding local people willing to cooperate with ideas and business opportunity.
What was your biggest mistake?
To get ADSL connection instead of Wireless (Dedicado) for a better upload.
Who maintains your website and why?
Michael. Technology Engineer. This is the guy that knows how to maintain it.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
Lack of Uruguayan competition to tackle the expat community and LGTB demands benefited our developing services that no-one else would ever provide.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
Very optimist. They will continue to grow, especially in Uruguay.

It is vital for the development of any company. Companies ought to market themselves in a very specofic way to appear interesting and appealing.

I can't really tell so far.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Recommendation from people to people. LGTB sites around the world. Adding links to and from other sites to ours.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Google ads.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
Better bandwidth. Lower price for connectivity. More investment on local internet infrastructure.
How do you find buying stuff on the internet in terms of the quality you expect and what you finally get?
1. Very good methodology, I always get what I expect. 2. It works well in some products, most likely you get what you expect. 3. I have had bad experiences. I buy very specific products that I already know I will not have major problems. 4. I never get what I expect. I prefer the traditional way to buy things.
