Please give us a short summary of your website?
My site is an online presence and marketing tool for my company, Ethos Marble Care UK Ltd. It is stone restoration company offering repair, cleaning, polishing, sealing and maintenance of all types of natural stone.
What pages are you most proud of on your site?
I have added detailed information on the site about the different types of stone we work on such as marble, limestone, slate, granite and travertine. I have also included pages with petrology articles.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was for my carpet & upholstery cleaning company, http://www.ethoscarpetcare.com , which has been running since 2003.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
My website name is the name of my company.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I believe my website has more unique content and in-depth geological information than any of my competitors sites. We also have great before and after photos which most other sites in my category don't have.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
As the site is used as a marketing tool for my business, my goal is to keep updating it with more information and more customer testimonials. The photo gallery will also be updated regularly.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The site is a great way to show potential clients exactly what we do and answer any questions they may have about the processes of stone restoration.
What design decisions did you make when creating your website?
I kept the same colour scheme and layout as my carpet cleaning site but changed the general theme to make it appear stone related at first glance.
How long did it take you to create your website?
It took me a month part time to write the content and then a couple of weeks to upload everything and edit it.
How happy are you with the finished website?
i am really pleased with it. We get loads of great comments from clients who say they called us because they loved the look of the site.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Writing the content and articles which are all unique.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I do alot of my own optimisation so it really takes lots of different techniques to promote a site. Natural google ranking is obviously a great promotional acheivement for any website and is what I aim to improve.
How do you maintain your site?
I use adobe contribute.
Will you be creating any more websites?
I am considering designing new sites based on other personal interests of mine.
