Please give us a short summary of your website?
The Share Jesus site is purposefully designed to encourage Christians from all walks of life to come together and share their faith with others, make new friends and increase in knowledge and wisdom of God's word.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The social network engine that I used to create this service is called 'Ning'. I was drawn to the services that they offered and knew straight away that this medium could be used to spread the gospel message of Jesus with the world.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The Share Jesus site is my first website venture and I launched it in March 2007.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
There is no other name that compares so the choice of name was easy
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It's content, interactive community presence and Christian Television all combined on the one site.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To see ministries from around the world supporting one another and sending out the same clear message of faith, hope and love with others. I am not sure where things will go once that has happened
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Right now there is no money in what I am doing. The focus is simply on what God wants me to do. He says in His word that He will provide our needs and that we should seek His Kingdom first before desiring other things so I am confident in the investment of time and money that has been made for the glory of God.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would do all I can to help the communities around the world that are in desperate need of financial resource. Many Share Jesus members express their financial needs to develop their ministries and I would love to help them if I was able to share in their success in spreading the gospel.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes most definitely. I would love to see a million members on the Share Jesus site soon. The members are the one's that contribute the most so the demand is met continuously.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Advertising and site traffic costs mainly
What has been your biggest challenge?
Knowing the will of God for this site and making sure that people know how to find it.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth! from members and other friends from other social networks.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I am enjoying building this network much more than I thought because I love meeting new friends from around the world and it's nice knowing that you belong to a clean website that sends out a positive message for readers.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been running for 7 months and I will keep it running for as long as I can. :-)
