We have a user friendly website that allows "end user" to order essential spares and identify products for their fire alarm systems. We offer a friendly efficient service and listen to our Customers. We think we have a winning formula that enables people to understand Fire Alarm technology more clearly
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The weay to organic growth in any company is to ensure that your customer base can find you. This is why our site was created.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our curretn website has been running for 1 year now although experimental versions were being used prior to this
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name Sunfish was derived from a moment of inspiration. A company name is a Company name! We feel its unusual title, is what makes us stand out.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Our site is different because its very easy to navigate and we dont say things on it that we cant do. If you want fire alarms come to us, if you want fancy sales jargon, go somewhere else.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Although profit is important, we strive to be a leader in our field and service provider who stands out in the field of excellence.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We are all committed at sunfish, the team has evolved over some years now, and we all have the same vision
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We hope our change comes from our reputation and not from expensive marketing campaigns.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
An order is an order. The priciples are the same for 1 unit or a 1000. We want the challenge!!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
We hate duplication of effort, we are all experienced "Change Managers" and document all our processes in detail. From this we can determine "non value added activity" we operate a "just in time" philosophy.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Our biggest challenge has been ensuring thatb each Customer recieves the same level of service.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We have a lot of feedback about our site and the success we have had is due to our Customers who promote it.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Our site is doing better than we expected
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We will run our site forever if we can, although we are constanlty adjusting and fine tuning
