Selling Endowments Interview

By Interviewer at 06/20/09 06:49

Name of your website?

Selling Endowments

Your name?

Alan reynolds

Your Location (city, etc)

Cheltenham

Please give us a short summary of your website?

It empowers holders of with profits endowment policies to sell them to endowment traders for more money than the issuing life insurance office will offer them, though not in all cases!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I realised that the life insurance offices were not offering the best price for those people that were motivated to cash in their unwanted endowment polcies.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name exactly describes the service that is being offered.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

In the early days, the other websites were not written in a user friendly manner, and the jargon used was so technical you needed to be a financial expert to be able to interpret the information needed to sell your secondhand endowments. Since I launched my website the others have copied my words, approach and methods. I suppose i should be flattered!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it until the income stream runs dry.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Its more than paid for itself already, in terms of time and money invested.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would spend it on better exposure by use of press advertising and other forms of media.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. I'd take on staff if i had to.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The main problems have been with spammers filling in the forms, and competitors copying great chunks of my text and pasting it on to their own websites (in one case this even included the copy/paste of my phone number on to the competitors website).

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It takes up more time than expected, and needs constant updating as the markets change.

Whats the one most important point in setting up a website?

Make it service a need in a niche market.

What is your website address?
