Please give us a short summary of your website?
Expat Delivery is an international shopping directory for British and American expats.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I lived in Japan for over two years and found I could not buy clothes to fit. I used the internet for shopping and found that some shops are more reliable than others. I had to spend a long time searching to find UK shops that would deliver to Japan with a reasonable delivery charge.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first website Sendit.to, in 2005
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I needed a name that would be linked to the function of the website.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
There are no similar offerings that is why I feel that the site would be invaluable to all expats.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would like to keep working on the site.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Success is very slow. I care about the content. I know shoppers want to get to the shop and look at the products. I try to make the sites as easy as possible to navigate, but unfortunately the search engines like more wordy content. I personally think that this confuses many users.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Advertise, advertise, advertise
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
yes.
