Please give us a short summary of your website?
Pure Ink Creative offers copywriting for websites. We optimise the content we create for the search engines as well as using sales techniques to help our clients improve their conversion rate.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We wanted to work for ourselves doing something we love - writing. We launched our website as we specialise in online copy and wanted our clients visit us online.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
It was Pure Ink Creative in January 2008.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We went through a couple of name changes before we came up with Pure Ink Creative. We chose it as our service is simple, we specialise in writing and we're creative.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We only create online copy and we optimise every thing we write for the search engines.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep writing for a living and expand the business to be a complete online resource in marketing for new businesses.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
As we're a relatively new business (currently in our first year of trading) we expected our investment of time in particular to be more than our success rate. It's a good investment though.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Get an office so we didn't have to work from home and employ more staff to take care of the business side of things so we can concentrate on writing.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, as they're two of us working on the website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The biggest cost is our time. Other than that petrol and parking for meetings but this is a marginal cost.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Learning about how to run and develop the business.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Search engine optimisation and a few PPC adverts. We have also had success by article marketing.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not much as we worked for an internet company before starting this business so we were aware of how to run a website.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We plan to always keep it live. We launched it in January 2008 and will continue to develop it.
Is working for yourself doing a job you love the best career ever?
YES!
