Please give us a short summary of your website?
London Public Bulletin Board - is a free and easy to use online bulletin board where everyone can post, jobs in London, flat and house rent, for sale and personal ads.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
All London classified sites I saw were overcrowded with lots of useless information and posting ads was quite difficult on those site. One needed to register to post an ad and it is inconvenient when you just have to post a single ad. I thought that I can make something better.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I don't remember, it was a long time ago. The website was a vegetarian news portal VegNews.org which transformed now to a Vegan News Portal.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I though it should have the word London in it and be short. PBB for Public Bulletin Board.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It is very easy to use, you don't need registration all ads are clean and readable
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to develop it and improve it until it becomes the best classifieds website for London, UK.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I believe the hard work pays back eventually..
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would make it possible to ad ads by sending an SMS to a special number.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I believe I would be able to keep it up and running.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
A big headache was dealing with automated spam bots that can transform any decent website into a trash bin in minutes.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge is still ahead I believe, it's becoming the N1 London Classifieds. :)
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google adwords is the fastest method, but I want to make people come back by making the website really useful.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
As I said it's not yet as popular as I want it to be.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have it for about a year already and I am going to keep it.
