Please give us a short summary of your website?
Safe Homes UK is a domestic and commercial security service provider selling things like advanced CCTV systems and access control systems. We also feature and online quote for home security (alarm systems etc) and a new online shop is in the works - hopefully this will come online sometime in 2008
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We wanted to take advantage of online marketing opportunities. We've had a website for a quite a few years, although the design has been updated and we've added new features.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our first website was launched in 1999 (I think) and was pretty basic, just a couple of pages and some simple graphic design. It was a Safe Homes site and we created it because we were aware that more and more people were getting internet access. Really the first site was like an online Yellow Pages listing.
Do you just serve the Tamworth area?
No! We've actually got clients across the UK - commercial customers who want advice on the best security systems for their shops and offices and domestic customers who need alarm systems installed.
How long will you continue to keep your site up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site is as much about having an online presence as it is about sales or high traffic. We employ a company to manage the site and we've been very pleased with the results. We haven't really started doing any serious SEO but we have a good basis if we want to start.
