What inspired you to launch your own website?
So many people utilize the web as a resource to find things. It was necessary to put The Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi on the web so that people could find us. We do not advertise much. Before we had a website, people who would come to the studio would comment that they wished we had a website and that they knew about us sooner. I knew I needed to get busy and get the site running. Once it was up, it has been wonderful.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
About six months ago we launched the website and it was and still is a blog site.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We used our business name.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It's completely a service to others.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To hook up as many people as possible with information that can help them change their life for the better.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This is more about providing a service to others and not really about what I get back.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would get professional help and update it more often.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
No, I am very busy teaching yoga classes, managing the yoga clothing (ordering and sales) and scheduling instructors. We just need for people to be able to find us.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Starting the website
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
N/A
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
N/A
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I'll keep it running as long as the business exists ( which I am certain will be a long long time!).
What makes your studio stand out from the others?
We give personal attention to each and every client. It is very important to make sure that each person walks away after a class feeling much better about themselves than when they first came in. Every person is encouraged to succeed. When we train our instructors, we send them out with the expectations that they will excel even further than us. We want everyone to do well and encourage our students to see the best in everything and everyone.
