Please give us a short summary of your website?
Chairnation is a supplier of massage chairs, leg massagers, and massage accessories. The massage chairs range in features and prices to suit your budget and needs.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Due to the outrageous prices found at Brookstone, Fry's, and other outlets, we felt it necessary to venture into this realm due to the lack of options for the average salaried household.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We launched Chairnation.com in 2007 as way to supply small companies and individuals with office furniture and massage chairs for affordable prices. We have focused more on the massage chairs due to the demand and margin for the company.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We wanted to come up with a name that was easy to remember and that portrayed the ability to supply over a broader range outside of our local market.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It is easy to use and the information is up to date. As an e-commerce site it fast and reliable. All the information about our policies and contact information is easily attainable which makes it more comfortable for our customers and visitors.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I want to grow it into a national company that supplies a steady stream of income for myself, business partner, and employees that work for us. Personal financial gain coupled with the financial gain for the people that are a part of the company is a key.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would have my site have all manuals for the units at the finger tips of our customers. The more friendly it is in allowing our customers to trouble shoot small issues on their own then less time we will have to allocate on customer service and will allow us to focus on sales initiatives.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
At the moment no. We need to establish lines of credit with our bank to have additional inventory at hand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not understanding how internet marketing truly works. Working on SEO and getting our site organically ranked is something I have just taken on. Before it was left for one of our employees to handle. All he was able to do was manage selling on Ebay rather than getting our site easily accessible to all internet users via higher page rank in searches.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Lack of experience in marketing.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I just started 2 weeks ago so can not answer as of yet.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not too much. I like our website. Just wish I knew how to use Dreamweaver so I can make on the fly changes and improvements without having to pay someone 75 dollars an hour.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It has been up 2 years....without my full attention. I will grow my traffic, income, and popularity due to my initiatives and so do not see any reason to even think about shutting it down.
