Hero for Life Interview

By Interviewer at 01/09/09 12:02

Name of your website?

Hero for Life

Your name?

Dave Schlesinger

Your Location (city, etc)

San Antonio

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Hero for Life is a website promoting my Mobile CPR/AED/First Aid Training business, located in San Antonio, Texas.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Realizing the need to expand my target market of businesses and groups needing CPR/AED/First Aid training in the San Antonio and Bexar County area in South Texas.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

It was about a year-and-a-half ago that I launched my first and current website: http://www.heroforlife.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name "Hero for Life" was inspired by a friend of mine.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My website is different from other, similar websites by being effectively optimized for search engines. Also, we are locally-based, so we target a highly-specific geographic market.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To grow my business.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I probably wouldn't change much, with the exception of implementing a pay-per-click or Adwords campaign.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I don't necessarily want my site to get "really big, really quickly" for the very reason that I am dealing with limited resources for scheduling training sessions, but if I had the additional income that the traffic would generate, then I could hire more trainers.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None, really. Everything's gone pretty much as planned.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site's been running for over a year now, and I will continue to keep it up as long as my business is operational.

What is your website address?
