Please give us a short summary of your website?
It is a website about what is available in the Tri Cities (Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol).
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I moved to the Tri Cities about 2 years ago and I love it here. When looking for infomormation on what is available here, I did not find any of the existing sites user friendly, so I create this one.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I used to make business websites for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
After looking at what domain names were availabe and what hopefully made sense.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I tried to make it very user friendly and easy to navigate and find what you are looking for.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To sell advertising to local business to highlight their business.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I just started, so I cannot answer that one yet.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Make the site more data driven.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I believe I would up to a point, if necessary, I would hire someone to help out.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None as of yet, but then who knows what is around the next corner.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Design of the site to be user friendly I would say.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
On the wiki sites so far, but then I am just starting to promote.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
As someone who did a similiar site told me, it is more work than you imagine when you first started.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
A month, and as long as it is feasible.
