Name of your website?

Power Search Tool

Your name?

Matthew McDonald

Your Location (city, etc)

Hobart

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Provides a free web search tool to enable people to find what they are looking for online.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To improve peoples search results would save people time and make their online experience much less frustrating.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This was launched in June 2007. Power Search Tool helps people search the internet better.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I made a list of several related words and asked people how those names made them feel.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Firstly, it's free. There is no adware or spyware and from feedback people are saying it is the most user friendly search tool that many people have used. The results are outstanding and anyone can use it.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To get the Power Search Tool into the Websters dictionary :-)

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Well as for money, I have not needed to invest a lot. If people love your product they will tell others about it. As for time, yes, the internet is competitive and demands time to stay in front.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would consider a global marketing campaign, and maybe some branded merchant tangible products.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. I have the system and people in place to handle rapid growth (whcih is actually happening).

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing major.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Assuring people it is save to download and install.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Making tutorial videos.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Running according what I expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The Power Search Tool has been running since June 2007 and is here to stay.

Should I try out the Power Search Tool?

Yes, definitely!

What is your website address?

Power Search Tool
