Spanish property rentals direct from owners.Promoting the try before you buy approach in Spain.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I am a spanish property owner wanting to rent out my property for holidays.Also I got ripped off when I bought my property through a large agent who then wanted to rent it to anyone for an extremely low price but high management cost.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
we launched rentspaindirect.co.uk in May, followed by rentspaindirect.com in June.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We wanted something simple and catchy
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The smiley houses!!!!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To try and earn a living to keep me here in Spain
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
You have to speculate to accumulate!!!!!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Not a lot
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Definately, we work nearly 24/7
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not a lot luckily my friends a whizz on computers and website building so he fixes my hardware when I crash it and oversees everything technical (hes an ace welsh bloke!!!!)
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to convince people we are not a scam.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Blogging and free ads.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Havent really had time to think about it yet.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Since it was created and hopefully for a long time in the future.
