Spanish property sales direct from the owner with No commission. We are a property marketing company NOT an estate agent!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Im trying to sell my spanish property and have already been stung once paying a high commission to an agent,also some of my friends are struggling to sell their properties due to estate agents still trying to charge huge commissions in a slow market and the drop in property prices.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
we launched rentspaindirect.co.uk in May, followed by rentspaindirect.com and 2 weeks ago buyspaindirect.co.uk
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Buy Spain Direct - exactly what it says! no hidden additives or preservatives.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Again the smiley houses and that we are genuine spanish property owners fed up off getting ripped off.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To make a living and help other property owners in Spain.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I'll keep you posted.......
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I wouldn't.To have to work for it makes it more worthwhile and means you try harder to succeed.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Definately.I want th site to be a sucess and will do whatever it takes to do that.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Again my super welsh computer geek has helped me avoid these so far.Hes the main man in our area for web building (www.dragonrojo.es)one of the few genuine blokes in Spain and has a wicked sense of humour.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Trying to convince people that your not trying to rip them off and that you are a genuine company trying to help other people as well as yourself shift a property in a slow market.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Blogging, free ads, fly posting and networking.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Im loving every minute of it.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
2 weeks and again plan to keep it a long time if I make enough to live on.
If you could change anything about your website what would it be?
Absolutely nothing, I'm trying to create a brand name with the smiley houses logo that people will eventually trust.Also they make the site a bit more lively and add a personality to the site.
