What inspired you to launch your own website?
A group of us were fed up with the same old style of forum and decided to start our own.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
our first website was rentspaindirect.co.uk in May 2008
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We wanted something simple and easy to find.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our fresh approach to the forum.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To build a good community of members to help other expats considering Spain.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Only time will tell
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would add more commercial programmes and would be able to fulfill the ideas we have.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Definately we have a good group of people onboard.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
No real unexpected costs but working together to agree on the direction we are heading.
What has been your biggest challenge?
To try and get members to post.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Using free ads, blog spots, etc
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its a lot more indepth than my other websites as we are dealing with people.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The sites just gone live and we will continue to build up our community.
