It was very easy because the name "Basketball Camp in Spain" reflects exactly the content of the Website.
What is the history of the Basketball Camp?
TAU Baskonia Basketball Club is a Sport Club with a long history: 2009 is the year of the 50th Anniversary of the Club!!!
The institution have gained special reputation among the Basketball Clubs in Spain and in Europe, thanks its professional organization and thanks the triumphs of TAU Baskonia Basketball Team, being considered as one of the best teams in Europe.
Baskonia Club supports a Basketball School for children and teens for more than 40 years, organizing camps in summer time for all levels.
Ten years ago Baskonia started to organize a special Tech Basketball Camp for intermediate and advanced youth basketball players: Well qualified trainers, professional basketball coaches with experienced assistants, trainers who understand individual capacity of the youngsters joining the camp and work with them to gain knowledge regarding basketball, team work, language and education.
What makes your Basketball Camp in Spain different from other, similar offerings?
It is a Complete Skills Basketball Camp for players from 13 to 17 years old with personalized, individual instruction in all phases of basketball, for players of intermediate and advanced basketball level, for children and juniors playing basketball in a Basketball Team or in the High School.
Do you provide accommodation for the campers?
We offer youth basketball players 2 options for accommodation: Host family stay or residence. In both cases with full board.
Will there be a medical staff at the camp? Are you insured?
Yes to both questions.
—There is a Physiotherapist 24-hours on Basketball Camp. —The camper's medical insurance will cover any injuries or illnesses that occur while at camp. In addition, all the participants have an insurance for travel, accidents and general medical insurance to cover them not only when playing basketball but on their stay in Spain. If needed, participants will be treated at Private Hospital in Vitoria City Center.
Is transportation provided to and from the airport?
Yes. We provide pick up service from Vitoria airport, Bilbao airport...
How can I get there?
Transfer service from Vitoria airport, bus station or train station from 8:00 to 22:00 is included in the package price. A representative of the school will pick campers up at the airport and bring them directly to their place of accommodation.
From 22:00 to 8:00 or from other airports like Bilbao there is an extra cost.
If you want to come with your children or organise the trip own your own, the easiest way is to arrive to Vitoria airport (Foronda). It is located 9 km from Vitoria city centre and it takes about 15 min. by car. There are domestic flights that connect Vitoria with Madrid and Barcelona.
The nearest airport with international flights is Bilbao (Loiu), approx. 45-60 minutes from Vitoria by car. TEL: Airport information: 94 486 96 63 / 64 Flight information: 905 505 505. If you do not want to rent a car, you can take a taxi to Termibus in Bilbao city center, and then take a coach of LA UNION to Vitoria. Buses run every hour from

Is Vitoria a big or a small city?
For Spain, we can say that Vitoria is a medium size city. It has around 234.000 inhabitants.
Can parents join the camp?
The camp is designed for teenagers and parents are not encouraged to participate. For parents who want to visit Spain while their children are in the summer camp, we can suggest different hotels and activities or we can arrange necessary lodging and activities for them to enjoy their stay for a fee. Please feel free to enquire for further information.
Are other activities than basketball?
Of course: cultural visits, excursions and trips to visit San Sebastian and Bilbao, games, shoping, bowling, dance lesson, farewell party and awards ceremony... And, before the camp, we offer a weekend in Barcelona for players coming from abroad.
Are students accompanied during the activities?
Yes, there is always at least one group leader every ten campers in the activities programmed.
Regarding the Spanish lessons, how do you know my Spanish level?
There are some questions on the enrolment form about your Spanish knowledge. With your answers we can get an idea about your Spanish level.
On Monday morning you will have a written test and an interview. With this information we can place you in the apropriate group according to your Spanish level.
If you are beginner, you will have Spanish lessons the first day at 9:00.
And, finally the last question: What are the dates for the camp?
Basketball summer camp runs between July 12th and 25th and campers come on July 11th or in July 10th if they flight to Barcelona.
