What inspired you to launch your own website?

Because we recognize and understand the power of the web and how to put highly advanced technology to use, we can market your property more effectively, or find your dream property quicker, more easily, and more reasonably.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched Africa Estate in June 2008 as Real Estate website to attratc buyers, sellers, developers, investors and will later recruit agents in the same way.In a philosophic sense Africa Estate has three distinct customer groups: sellers, buyers, and agents.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Africa Estate was established by Principal Louise Fourie. Louise was better known in her region as the so called Queen of farms. Louise list and sell "Farms for Africa". Some friends later on gave her the nickname Mamma Africa and decided Africa Estate was a good name for the Real Estate business she started.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We wish to establish a successful partnership on our website with our clients, our staff members, and our title companies, that respect the interests and goals of each party. The website is linked with my properties on property24 which make it easy for me to only submit a listing once and it will show on both websites. Details of the listings which has too much data for 24 will appear on Africa Estate's website.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Something in Real Estate that has significant change South Africa’s envisioned future of Real Estate and what we aspire to achieve in South Africa. Africa Estate will signify a first of its kind in Africa and will provide the new glue that holds Real Estate in Africa together. 10 - 15 Years from now, Africa Estate will be as well known as any in the world

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

With the current economic house market in South Africa this is a little bit difficult. But there are a good number of people logging in at my website and the numbers are raising dramatically.

I have found that the greater the investment of time and money, the greater the return.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'd do whatever I could to make it the best-looking and most user friendly site on the internet.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

yes for sure.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Continuing overheads and weaker sellings during the economic downturn.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To franchise Africa Estate and to make Africa Estate the most well known Agency in Africa and later one of the top ones in the world.

Continuing to build a solid customer base during the economic downturn.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Most website traffic comes from searches on Property 24, world properties, google, radio advertisement and facebook.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

This is a new website and the number of people visiting my website was beyond my expectations.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The current site is almost one year and I would like to make it extra ordinary and the first of its kind. I will not discontinue running it unless it produces absolutely nothing.

Why should a prospective customer choose Africa Estate?

The sale and purchase of farms, smallholdings and development land is a specialised field in which the typical estate agent do not have the required experience. We are pleased to inform you that we specialise in the marketing of smallholdings and farms.

Louise Fourie, who has been actively involved in the marketing of farms, smallholdings and development land in South Africa for almost 10 years and probably sold more smallholdings than any other agent in her area. She lived on a farm in Bainsvlei for more than 25 years and knows the history of this area better than any other agent.

What is your website address?
