Havroota.com is a free online service that helps jews anywhere in the world find a chavruta(torah study partner) or Torah shiur(class) nearest them. The site is free and it helps you post or search without signing up. Its a kind of JDate but for learning Torah!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Torah. Poeple sometimes want to study there jewish roots or review there classes but they only have a few hours in the schedual to spare, havroota .com helps the meet people to study one on one or find a study group.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first websiteand i launched it a week ago
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Its a mix of the hebrew term for study partner 'havruta' and google search=havroota
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
there isn't anything like it out there yet...
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
each time someone connects through this sites and studies a bit of torah i will truly feel like a millionnaire... other than that i just wish to make this site as user friendly and entertaining as possible.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
well i was very lucky. Being a videographer i had the chance to work with a programmer who needed a video for his website ilovetoplay.com so we simply did an exchange.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

It was conceived to be able to take a big demand

What has been your biggest challenge?
making this website know to the jewish world has been hard but i'll get there.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Well first talking,sending links add myself as a link and then more talking about the site.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
much more work that i thought
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Its been up less that a week and i hope to keep it up for a loooong time
