Some of it is pattern stone, broken stand-up also called irregular, and colonial. I also have field stone, creek stone, and river stone to sell.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have a lot of stone to sell. I believe and have been told that internet advertising is the best way to advertise.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
rockonsupply.biz is my first website. This is the first time I have done this.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Rock On Supply is the name of my business.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The stone in this part of the world, North Eastern Pennsylvania, is unique to the area. You will not find Blue Stone in any other part of the world. It is the same with the Field Stone, Creek Stone, and River Stone. It is a unique and valuable asset to anyones Lawn, Garden, Pond, and Landscaping needs.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My main goal is to sell stone. This is how I support my family.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Rock On Supply is a very successful business. It is the only means of income for my family of 6. Rock On Supply continues to grow every year.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I may incorporate the business. Hire new employees, and have health bennifits for my employees. And I would start a work related incenitive program for the employees.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. I have some concerns about rapid growth, but I think it can be work out.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Equipment costs are high, but the worst cost we face is the rising fuel prices. The cost of fuel is a proplem for everyone.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Raising enough money to establish a profitalbe business.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
This is the first thing I have tried. The website was just made April 2008. I am continuing to work on it. It will change and grow as we go.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
My only expectation is to dre in new customers to make more sales, and I have not done that yet. But the site has not been promoted yet.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have just begun and will continue until I have accomplished the level of success I want.
