Please give us a short summary of your website?
Well, IntellectToday.com is pretty self-explanatory. IntellectToday is a website focused on Science and Technology, Philosophy, and related subjects.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I was inspired to launch this website because I wanted to provide a friendly place for scientific discussion and debate. Knowledge is power.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is the first website that I have launched.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Well, I knew that this website would deal with science and technology - I spent some time thinking and realized that people always want tomorrow's intelligence today - hence the title, IntellectToday!
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Our website is dedicated to improving itself based on what the members want. We will do whatever it takes to make IntellectToday better and more targeted toward its goal.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My eventual goal is to make IntellectToday the first place that people go to when they need information.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The time and money invested certainly is giving us quite a bit of success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would devote the budget to adding new features, updating software and scripts, and maintaining the site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Of course! We're hoping that the site gets really big, really quickly, actually.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The coding and membership are two headaches that I've experienced. It's more difficult than you think to find people who wish to join a scientific community!
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge, in my opinion, is getting members.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word-of-Mouth
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasn't. I expected things to take the route they are currently on.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has only been up for a short period of time. In the future, if the site doesn't succeed in gaining more traffic and popularity, I shall continue running it with the hopes that one day it shall succeed.
How can members stay in touch while surfing other sites?
