Please give us a short summary of your website?

A comprehensive guide of useful information about the Norwin area (Irwin/North Huntingdon) for current and new residents.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I love to help people and have lived in our area my entire life. About 7 years ago, a new neighbor moved in across the street. She was from New York and had no idea where anything was or how to get around. My heart went out to her and I started helping her. We became close friends and started taking daily walks together. During one of our walks we were talking and it occurred to me that the information I provided to her about the area would be useful to everyone who lived there, particularly new residents - the Norwin Community Guide was born! The guide is not just a website, it is a binder full of local information, I am proud to say a copy is actually in the Norwin Public Library.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

4 years ago. It has all the information in our printed Norwin Community Guide, plus links to all the generous businesses that sponsor the program.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted it to say what it was, so I named it after the book I compiled.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would like to have a website containing useful information for every town in the United States. I know, talk about a fantasy!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Keeping the information up-to-date.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Linking, newsletter (Neighbor to Neighbor) and having it on our office window and car magnets.
