Ontario Cleaning Interview

By Interviewer at 06/18/07 16:50

Ontario office cleaners Ontario Cleaning Interview
Name of your website?

Ontario Cleaning

Your name?

Patrick

Your Location (city, etc)

Toronto

When did you start your website and why?

We started this web site out of a common customer need.

With so many generalist office cleaners, it's difficult for companies to find specialized office cleaners who are easy to work with.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Everything we do is about making your job easier. We clean small offices, and that's all we do. Because we only clean small offices, we notice details that a generalist (cleaning houses, offices, restaurants, etc...) would miss.

We're commercial cleaners who actually listen!

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

This site has been organic. It's just naturally grown out of what our customers have been telling us. So in that respect, it was easy. All we had to do was listen and respond.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

The easiest part of my job is maintaining relationships. Our customers are so satisfied with our services, and we love to hear back from them.

Who maintains your website and why?

Our web site is maintained in-house.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Our mailing list has been the most important breakthrough in our web site. It allows us to communicate more effectively with our customers, and to offer better prices without reducing the quality of our service.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

We use e-commerce. All of our invoicing and billing are done electronically.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

SEO has been crucial in the success of our business. Without it, we would not be as successful as we are today.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Search engines are good, but nothing compares to that face-to-face contact. Technology is just a tool. It's no substitute for the basics.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Google adwords was a bit tricky, and it took a while to get my strategy down.

The Dating Manual For Women Interview

By Interviewer at 06/13/07 12:17
Name of your website?

The Dating Manual For Women

Your name?

MaryHelene Tokatzanis

Your Location (city, etc)

Toronto

When did you start your website and why?

To sell a dating e-book that I wrote along with subliminal CDs.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Dating e-book for women along with subliminal CDs for men and women.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

I can't think of any difficulties. A lot of time has been invested though. I have learned a lot about how the internet works while building this site along with learning HTML.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Once I got the hang of HTML updating pages for better SEO has been a breeze.

What was your biggest mistake?

Design of my website is not very attractive. Not having a PO box for my customers.

Who maintains your website and why?

I maintain it all the time. I want to because I really do like maintaining my site.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Having a website is the easiest & quickest way of starting a business with very little capital - so I'm able to have a business with minimal effort.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

I always try to follow SEO. Though I have had more success in not following SEO to the letter. It's hard to keep up sometimes.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

I thought it would be very difficult to get onto search engines at first. I was very surprised to find out that I was on search engines in no time at all. So they've helped me I think.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Good old fashioned link exchanges (I never care about PR...I just like trading links) and of course directories. Classified postings have really helped also.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Never use safelists. They just don't work. Plugging away at submitting to directories and having link exchanges are the best.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

The internet has changed. It's getting harder and harder to find valuable information. Now all I can seem to find are sites that mirror the same information again & again. About 2 to 3 years ago I could find so many great websites with valuable information (that seemed to be independent). Now I just find countless sites that mirror information, etc.

You can enter a question of your choice and the answer here:

My question is: what is the purpose of blogs? Is it for commercial reasons (making money) or personal reasons? (I don't have an answer here...looking for one.)

Name of your website?

Divine Discussions

Your name?

Mike Mandell

Your Location (city, etc)

Brantford

When did you start your website and why?

A friend of mine and I were talking over beers one day, and decided to start a website. We're both interested in religions and faiths and thought it would be a fun thing to do. That was February of this year, and so far it's been a blast!

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

The website features user submitted opinion essays. You can read them, comment on them, and submit your own. It also has a forum for debate and discussion and is free to join. Once per week we post the "post of the week" on the front page. The person who that the most intelligent, interesting or original forum posts gets it up there!

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

This is my very first website and it's definatly a learning curve.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Nothing easy about running a website, it takes time and patience

What was your biggest mistake?

Not making it SEO friendly right off the bat. Set us back a few months that's for sure.

Who maintains your website and why?

Myself and my partner in crime. The website is a hobby and we pay for the server space out of pocket.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

No business, just fun!

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

Ecommerce is great. You can get what you want from your own home and I think it's just going to grow.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

I wish it were easier to get a good google ranking!

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Probably helped, but it's hard to get a decent ranking!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far getting reciprocal links, and promoting on other forums.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Trying to get google PR,.... but that'll change once we actually have it!

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

NOTHING!
