Please give us a short summary of your website?
We try to explain the benefit of custom furniture. Every item is unique and made to the clients specifications. Our goal is to create "functional art".
What inspired you to launch your own website?
So many of the chain furniture stores carry low-quality furniture, and usually not exactly what a customer wants.... We want people to ENJOY their furniture - to help in the creation process to receive a one-of-a-kind, high quality item.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our name is a giggle about where we settled once we moved back to Ontario from Nunavut, Canada.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Alot of other woodworkers use patterns purchased from various sites, whereas each and every item is a design created by Peter using the natural beauty of the wood grain to create a unique piece of furniture.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal would be to showcase our functional art pieces in galleries and sell our unique designs.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would integrate a design program into the site so that a client could use it to help with more input into the design process.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes
What has been your biggest challenge?
To reach potential clients.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Exhibithing a booth at Artisan shows
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Approx 1 1/2 years - and we would run it until we are unable to work any longer!
