Ontario farm Veliraf Farm Interview
Name of your website?

Veliraf Farm

Your name?

Nicole

Your Location (city, etc)

Conn

Please give us a short summary of your website?

An in depth look at our farm, and the various animals that we currently raise. Here you will find Australian Cattle Dogs, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Icelandic, Shetland, Romanov, and Finnsheep, Dexter Cattle, Tamworth Pigs, and Netherland Dwarf Rabbits.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We are proud of our animals, and wanted them to be seen by everyone!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

About 10 years ago, for my Australian Cattle Dogs

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It started as my Kennel name. I took my first four dogs names, and combined the letters until I found something I thought was pleasing.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We feel that our animals are competitive in todays marketplace. We strive to produce quality, not quantity.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I will always keep my web-site. I honestly cannot see myself ever leaving the farm!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Bring in bloodlines that I do not currently have.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I would hope so.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The loss of any animal is always difficult to deal with, regardless of species.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Deciding on breeding decision that will move us constantly forward.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Sites such as yours!

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is actually easier than I anticipated.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Our farm site has been up for about four years, since I purchased my own domain name. I will keep it up indefinately- as I do it for my own enjoyment.

What is your website address?

Veliraf Farm
