Not at all, while you have an employer who takes care of it

What was the most difficult part of the transition?

Transfering and organizing our properties

Family (children and mostly grandchildren)

Depends on your personality. Be friendly and open minded and you wont find any difficulty in making friends

Golf, sports, touring

Yes

Do you think it is crucial to know the language in Nigeria, or can you get by with a handheld translation dictionary for a while?

Was medical insurance difficult to get before you went or after you first arrived?

No problem but expensive

One needs to realise that African culture and ways of life are very different from the Europian and should be open minded to get adjusted. Don't expect the local people to change for you or adapt your way of thinking!

How do you feel about the local people? Are they friendly?

They are very friendly once you get to know them

Do you have any suggestions for people who are thinking about moving to Nigeria?

Be prepared to different standard of services which are not always easily available like: power, water supply, communication, transportation. Time keeping is not a factor. Cleaness and hygean are "suspicious", medical services are of low level, cultural life (theater etc.) is scarse

What are the good or bad things about living in Nigeria?

Very intersting and exiting experiance. Getting to know third world life, meeting people from all over the world in a cosmopolitan environment

Do you think you will stay in Nigeria, or it is not suitable for the long run?

I will

Take everything easy and try to enjoy every experiance you encounter
