Please give us a short summary of your website?

We provide direct mail lists to businesses wanting to advertise in New Zealand.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

All the other companies providing mail lists charge around $250 plus just to extract data into a mail list, and you still have to pay the individual record fee. We think thats just not on.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We launched it about two weeks ago so it is very new.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We based the name on the website design. We created a dancing robot so we named the site irobot.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

You dont have to pay the extraction fees, and there is no minimum purchase amount.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To list every single business in new zealand. There are around 450,000.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We havnt started receiving order yet as the site is 2 weeks old, but we are very hopeful that it will have been a wise investment.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

At this stage we wouldnt, it is pretty much perfect.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes but we may need to upgrade the database server that holds the information.,

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

When we made the site it operated very slowly due to the large amount of data it was checking, however we made smaller database tables and it has come right.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting listed in google and yahoo. Has taken over a week.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Getting high in the google SERPS

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

This is my third site so I knew what to expect when I set it up.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It will stay up indefinably because it is hosted on my main web server, and the site is self sufficent.
