When did you start your website and why?

About 2 years ago for the family buisiness. Main reasons for starting it is to advertise and create an online store to make it easy for people to buy our products.

C. Howard Company., Inc is a candy manufacturing company started in 1930. Known for its unique flavored candy.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Finding the time to do it. I find the graphics to be difficult and very time consuming.

What has been the easist past of operating your website?

Assuming you mean easiest part??? It would be creating it. Getting it out on the web is hard to do. Promotion is expensive.

What was your biggest mistake?

Pouring money into advertising without researching my options.

Who maintains your website and why?

Myself for now, I work for the family based company and it keeps costs down.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

Its a good way to reach out and for people to reach us, that have never known we ever existed.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

I think its a very powerful tool. I beleive it is a new way to shop for what you need and want, plus its very easy to do. With most people having fast paced life styles, ordering products online is certainly a thing of the future.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Very important, search engines are a way for people/customers to find our companies website.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

I would say they have only helped our site, although still working on the urls ranking, I think its worth setting up.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far, I think the text ads are helping get us traffic. Image or banner ads are best I think, but very expensive.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

I think that exchanging links with other sites was the least successfull.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

Perhaps easier ways to sell your products. Also more affordable ways of advertising.

FONYE Professional PC Consultants is small company that focuses on the needs, budget and expectations of the small businesses and residential computer users, New York and world wide. We specialize in Windows PC's, Servers and laptops. Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website? I feel that business has grown a lot due to my website. What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet? My view on ecommerce is going to be the way of shopping in the nearby future. Many customers are tired of running from store to store only to hear "Sorry, we're sold out of that item, The truck is on it's way with another shipment right now" with ecommerce, these customers could shop from home and have their purchases delivered What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website? I feel that the correct search engine could really help a website's exposure to the world. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? 75% of our customers come from web searches. It is a big marketing tool. What method has been least successful for promoting your website? Flyer distribution. This is a very time consumming and tedious way of promotion. A person could distribute 2000 Flyers and only attract 10% of their targeted audience. What would you like to see change with respect to the internet? I would like to see the major search engines do away with the sponsored links. Most of the sponsored listings are not as productive or competitive in the real world market. This is the reason for the need to achieve high search listings and pretty bright highlighted ads. A heafty budget does not guarentee customer satisfaction. What is your website address? Max Your Location (city, etc) Our website servers are located in NYC to allow fast connection speed to both US and international clients. When did you start your website and why? It is now a couple of years that our website is online. We started a hotel directory with a clear idea of listing exclusively hotels official websites. Later on we allowed hotel-keepers to post their own Hotel Page, complete with pictures and hotel updates, in addition to the hotel listing in the directory. Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc Hotelkeepers submit the hotel info and keep it updated. Travellers can access this hotel info simply browsing the directory. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? As you would expect we have tried several options for promoting our hotel directory, which in principle should be easy considering that it provides a free service to the hospitality industry and to the travellers. Online advertising, Google and Yahoo, proved successful though it requires time and money to adjust and follow through the keywords performance. You need to be careful how you spend your budget as not all the keywords you expect to be the best would actually produce what you expect (hotel-keepers registration in our case) so it is a continuous refining job. In the end we have learned a lot about hospitality industry and hotel online advertising! How can a hotel benefit from your website? Through our directory we promote the hotel own website therefore the hotel direct bookings. In the very end this means additional bookings for the hotel and a lesser ratio of agency - high commissions - reservations. What is your website address?
