Please give us a short summary of your website?
Arranging professional movers for local and long distance moving needs. Also, international moving and shipping services using ocean container load to worldwide destinations from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, California and all states in between.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Market need for a specialty moving and shipping services company, such as ours, to accommodate residential and commercial customers moving needs under one umbrella.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first website was launched in 2003-2004 and it was not providing the information the consumer was looking for.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The decision came about once the realization of the many services our company provides related to moving locally or internationally.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The website is different from others because it is easier to navigate and find the information a customer seeks and in addition, it has a friendly look and feel to it. We feel it is easy to retrieve information needed regarded worldwide shipping, for example.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To be recognized nationwide as a specialty moving and shipping services company that can accommodate any potential residential and commercial customer's moving and shipping needs at any given time for the right budget with a superb customer service.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
There is no limit to the growth the company can experience with our personnel's integrity, ambitions and drive for success with customers satisfaction in mind. There is no balance between time & money. There is a path we have already taken and with many road signs. The company's success is measured by our customer's satisfactions and referrals they provide.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would add additional pages covering additional states, break it down to counties and towns, be more informative and use DRUPAL.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
For sure at any time with a short notice. Customer service personnel will be assisting one customer at a time in the most professional manner and ways.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Container trucking company does not show up to the loading area with a container or on time. A truck broke down and customer has a use of elevator for only 3 hours and job must be done within that time frame, customers not saying the truth is the biggest headaches of all.
What has been your biggest challenge?
To accept the notion that customer is always right even if he/she is not.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Referral sites, directories, search engine optimization (we never blogged),
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is time consuming. Did not know the scoop of it when first started. But, since i had no expectation entering this world, we realize how the site can grow with the various services out there. The exposure is limitless and we wish to have the budget for it.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site is built to last for as long as it is possible,managable and affordable, because it is generating income and traffic already and it will continue to do so. We just wished we have more traffic.
