Name of your website?

The Indo-Caribbean Social Network-New York

Your name?

Premi Singh

Your Location (city, etc)

Queens

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This is a group for Indo-Caribbeans who are looking to meet and spend time with other Indo-Caribbeans in New York. We will enjoy cultural events that appeal to our Indian heritage as well as just relax and have dinner, catch a movie, visit museums, attend parties, or go bowling. This group is for professionals and other intelligent and mature Indo-Caribbeans interested in meeting quality people. But don't let us fool you...we know how to have a good time!!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I had been thinking about this meetup group for a while. For those of us who are Indo-Caribbean professionals, we often find ourselves spending time with people who are not Indo-Caribbean. Although this is nice, sometimes we crave spending time with our own people, but don't want to hang out with the group that drives down the street blasting their music. This is a group for all of these people.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This group was created on December 30, 2007. It is powered by the awesome website, Meetup.com so we have access to their state of the art technology.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

There isn't anything similar that I know of. This is a growing population though.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To create a space for Inbdo-Caribbeans to network and socialize.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge will be getting the word out. That is why a site like this is very helpful.

Who can join?

Anyone can join, really. I have set up the group as one for Indo-Caribbean Professionals. However, you don't really need a degree or a fancy job to join. All you need is a mature and intelligent frame of mind.

What is your website address?
