What inspired you to launch your own website?
Tech On is a new IT and Telco Consultancy in Australia. We launched our website, because we wanted to make everyone aware of our Business and how it may help them.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My First real website was built in 2005. http://www.stephenmorton.com.au it was a Wedding Photographer site.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Tech On was choosen, because it was simple to remember, and was derived from our motto, "Turning Technology On for your Business"
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Tech On offers a down to Earth approach. We also specialise in several different areas of IT and Telecommunications.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I want to keep the website for the long run, unless we change our name etc.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Tech On is a relatively new venture, so right now, it is hard to say. However, right now, the investment of time, although high initially, seems to drive it's self over time.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would employ more development staff and offer more development products. Currently we offer software application development as well as Website Development, however we would expend this further.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Certainly, although we don't expect the site to command a huge flow of traffic since we only offer Technology Consulting services, however, we have a great Webhost (www.bluecentral.com) who we know can well and truly provide us into the future as we expand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
At this stage, we have been lucky.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Taking the leap of faith. Starting this Business from nothing, while comming from a successful career in IT and working for large Businesses here in Australia.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Currently we operate mainly from Word Of Mouth
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasn't really thus far. We spend a lot of time updating the website weekly, with information useful to our clients, however, this has taken more effort than first though (although it is worth it, our customers appreciate the effort).
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been running for 12 months. Although we recently re vamped the website inhouse. We are happy with it. We expect to keep the website as it is for approx 12 months.

Tech On offers IT and Telecommunication Consulting services. We also offer Software Development, Web Development and Hardware Outsourcing services here in Sydney Australia.
