Your name?

Brian

Your Location (city, etc)

Please give us a short summary of your website?

CAD CAM Forums is a community forum for discussion of computer aided engineering news, techniques, support etc.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

It is a hobby right now, doing it to improve my knowledge on the field.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Late February 2008, http://cadcamforums.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

CAD= Computer Aided Design, CAM = Computer Aided Manufacturing

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Clean, easy to use, no spam or obtrusive advertising.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I hope to keep it for minimal income to support hosting costs and to keep on my resume as an example of staying involved in the industry.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

So far it's doing better than i thought, Google ads has been moderately successful.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

More advertising.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Fully scalable, the bigger the better.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

It's a lot more work than I originally thought, but its all worht it.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Staying motivated and up to date with content.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Face to face discussion.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It's fairly in line with my expectations.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Its been running a week, I plan to keep it running indefinitely.

Where is the best place to get your CAD CAM information?

Why http://cadcamforums.com of course! ;)
