Please give us a short summary of your website?
My website is design for the promotion of Sierra Leonean owned businesses in USA as well as the whole wide world to a community were we can employ the services of our opuw people if we choose to do so. Noting that it is not solely for Sierra Leoneans, as others can advertise their business, proffession and sell anything from food product to estates. Site will only deal with legitmaste business and all advertisers have to be over 18 years old. Our cost is very cheap as compaired withg other internet services, this is so as to maintain the site and also to attract more web users.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Having being in the internet business for about 13 year, my first page being that of the Sierra Leone Grammar School, I have always wanted our people toi have an identity ion the west, as we are first and foremost Sierra Leoneans and no other group will accept us as we are not them. Aslo in the promtion of our Country, to show the world that we do have many productive citizen in diaspora who are doing quite well in their vocation and if we come together we can only be stronger, I know how to market the web site as this is part of what i do as an entrapenur, very dedicated to success of my people and of couse myself.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Well I have the domain name for about 4 months now and due to my work load I was unable to write the wape page, so I have just recently launch it, in the same format as it is now
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Very easy, the thought of business and business directory has alway being in my mind, and as a pround African and Sierra Leonean it was easy to come up with the name
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Professionalism, tenacity and dedication, this is what I do, I am very serious in what ever I do.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To box with the big boys, to make it better and a recognise name in the www
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I am self employed and this is my industry, so that does not play into the equation
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Employ more people to market and build the web site
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Off course, this is why Ithoughtabout it in the first place, I do not except it to be stagnant and remain domant after a few months, all things being equal
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None so far.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting to my people tom realise the internet is growing and you have to be in it, to survive the future trends.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Search engine listing, spam email and word of mouth
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has not as I have the experience of starting a venture what it will be like and what you might hope for it to be.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
About a month, and as long as health and other forces of nature permits me.
