Your name?
Attorney Joseph Reiff
Your Location (city, etc)
Las Vegas
Please give us a short summary of your website?
GotAccident.com is a simple, easy-to-navigate website for Attorney Joseph Reiff located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Among an attorney bio and areas of practiced law, there is a great page for anyone who wants to know what to do if stopped by the police as well as a page for legal news.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
People are using the phone book less and less and are turning to the Internet instead to find legal services.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
GotAccident.com is my first website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted a name that already had a keyword in it, hence the "accident" part of the name. I also wanted a name that was easy to remember.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
There are many, many attorney websites out there. My site is simple and to the point. People are looking for an attorney because they need one now, so the less sifting through the information the better.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
This will always be my website.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Since the site was first launched in December 2007, I have to say that the amount of work I've put into it has generated some success; however, websites do take time to generate good PageRank.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably place a video ad on the site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I think so. When people call my office they speak with me directly. I treat people how I would like to be treated if I needed legal help.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I tried Google AdWords for a while, but I didn't think it was cost effective. Nothing compares to being placed high on Google or Yahoo naturally.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Search Engine Optimization. Luckily there are books on the subject. I also use Godaddy's WebSite tonight, but it has it's limitations. Most of the templates are lackluster and I feel that I may employ a professional web designer soon in order to get the look and feel that really exemplifies what I think a lawyer's website should look like.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Using sites like yours!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I knew what to expect somewhat. I didn't know the importance of links until now.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Even if I didn't have tons of traffic, a website still makes for a good business card to have out there.
What was the question you were asked most while in Law School?
"What kind of lawyer do you want to be?" My response was always, "A good one."
What is your website address?
