What inspired you to launch your own website?
My goal is to get many customers from around the world. To do this, internet is the best source. So I launched my website to get more connection with people in the internet and opportunity to expand my business.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website. And I think I am receiving satisfactory number of queries from people around the world.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
My website is about the handcrafted products from Nepal. All our products are 100% handmade. And www.nepalcraft.com will be the best choice, I think.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Actually, we believe in honesty, reliability, fair price, good quality of goods. This is our strongest path, how we do business with people. Once people do business with us they think we are different. prouducts may be same with other but our way of doing business is different.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To get more and more customers from around the globe and intoduce our unique and interesting products from Nepal to the world. And ofcourse, provide more and more employment opportunity in our company and get good income for myself.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This is a big question. But simply I would like to say effort and money is both essential for the success of the company.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
This is a very important thing. If I have unlimited development budget then I can use more money to make new things and better products and experiment in lot of ways. More experiment, better products. At last, company will gain more market and more profit.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Sure. Our company is well established company with sound financial backing. I can hire more people to work on my growing website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Till now I have not faced any serious problems. I am play safe type of a person and I belive in step by step improvements.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge is finding genuine customers from the Internet.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I am not sure about it. I studied many seo downloads. They say search engines is the best method in promoting sites and promoting directories is also the right method. This is what I am doing right now.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is OK. But I think I should get more customers since I am investing lot of time promoting my website.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It is almost 1 year. And I will continue to do this in future also. Since I have well established company in Nepal, the website will exist till my company exists.
