When did you start your website and why?
Last year as a new business focusing on primarily a Moroccan theme - it's a fascinating, enthralling country with growing opportunities for new business investors.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
The site features Moroccan Real Estate and an online store section promoting Moroccan Artisanat products and items both Retail and Wholesale.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
set up, getting it to look and operate in the way I want and provide easy user access and information (still working on it!)
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
ask me as soon as it is finished
What was your biggest mistake?
not having had the guts to do this sooner
Who maintains your website and why?
a UK company, because Morocco is still in it's infancy where the internet and ecommerce is concerned (however is rapidly learning and improving)
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
I think can reach more people around the world through the internet than I can from a High Street shop location in a town in a country somewhere in the world
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
traditional running costs are reduced dramatically using ecommerce
continuing user confidence and experience will sustain growth in the future
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
very important and unfortunately too many "salesmen" out there all claiming to be experts on the subject (the new generation of the old double glazing sales teams)
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
they are capable of helping and hindering - in fact your Alexa ranking has been better, who do you use?
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
we are a new business - the question may be a little premature at this point
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
spending vast amounts of money before exploring alternatives available that are proving more cost effective at the moment
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
certainly not into a highly regulated, legislated inflexible form that returns power to the corporates and global institutions. keep the highway free and let business opportunities grow from it
