Please give us a short summary of your website?

LED, short for light-emitting diode is on it's way to replace incandescent lighting as soon as 2012. LED lighting has proved to be an efficient way of lighting anything from your Christmas tree to the overhead street lamps (cobra heads) & traffic lights that we see everyday on our roads & freeways.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We wanted to get the message out about Led lights, and led lighting options. The Internet was the best place to start. LEDs have been around a long time, but have only recently been seen in flashlights, cars, homes, etc.

How long do LED lights last?

LED lights last 50,000 hours. An incandescent bulb may only burn for a 1000 hours. That's a huge difference in the amount of time the led light will last against an incandescent bulb. And the other benefit of led lighting is that leds are green friendly.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We thought about how people would search on the Internet when they wrre interested in learning more about LEDs and LED lighting.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

This site will provide unbiased information on LEDs and LED lighting. It will also show some insight on how LEDs are being used in the United States, and in the rest of the world.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our eventual goal is has a very informative site about Leds and Led lighting.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As with any venture, the more time that is put into the LED lighting project, the faster it will grow.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would love to feature LED products on our website at some point. LED lighting will replace the incandescent bulb soon, and we would like to help make the transition easier to understand for the consumer. From LED education, to making LED lighting available online to purchase.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, we anticipate there is a need for a website that educates about led lights, and how led lighting will change the way we see light!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None as of yet, but we're still in the early stages of developing the led website.

What has been your biggest challenge?

There isn't a lot of information about LED lighting, which is why we decided on launching http://www.led-lighting-online.com

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Search Engine Optimization has been the most successful method for promoting our LED website. The costs involved are much lower than traditional advertising models such as radio & magazines.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Running the LED website is everything we thought it would be.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has only been up and running for a few months, and will continue to be operational forever.
