Rapid Prototypes | Phoenix Proto Interview

By Interviewer at 07/25/09 12:27

Name of your website?

Rapid Prototypes | Phoenix Proto

Your name?

Scott

Your Location (city, etc)

Centreville, MI

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We provide rapid plastic prototype parts from Aluminum molds with No design limitations in 3 weeks or less. Free samples are included. We blend conventional tooling with current technology. Class A surface capable - chrome plated, texture, light pipes, optical components, medical, disposable, inserts & more. Our excellent customer service, friendly communication and expert support at each step of the process to ensure your project is a success. We want to build a lasting relationship with each and every customer. No matter how big or how small each one is important to us.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Every business needs a presence upon the internet. Our website gives our customers a chance to learn about our services anytime of the day or night. This is especially helpful for projects that went from being shelved to suddenly hot. Our site gives these projects the information to make an informed decision quickly.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2000. Manufacturing

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name of our company was the natural choice.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We offer information not traditionally found within the manufacturing community. We strive to be a resource.

Our service is rather unique in our "no design limits" makes it rather difficult to use a 1 size fits all cookie cutter quotation process. We do however guarantee quotes within 24hrs of receipt of data. Our part delivery time frame is firm, 3 Weeks or less.

We also offer free samples with orders, meet or beat qualified competitor quotes and expedited orders.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We want to become a complete rapid prototyping resource database. Putting all our years of experience in a book is a good idea.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We definitely see favorable results and our users feedback is very positive. We highly recommend our web guru & will give her site info to anyone who wants it.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We constantly strive to ensure the best user experience. All those little wish list items would get done immediately rather than our current roll out schedule.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, most definitely. Our location between Chicago & Detroit allows us access to some of the best talent in manufacturing today.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None come to mind.

What has been your biggest challenge?

None come to mind.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

We've been seeing great traffic from all types of sources. Our favorite is good old fashioned referrals from happy customers.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It's exceeded all our expectations.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Currently it's been a great success. Hopefully it will continue to do so in the future.

What is your website address?

Rapid Plastic Prototypes from Phoenix Proto
