When did you start your website and why?
Prayer Request Web was launched in May 2007 to help people with financial need, Health probles and many other issues that face our world on a day to day basis
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
At Prayerrequestweb.com people from all parts of the world come together, pray together and lift each others spirits through prayer and supplication to the almight God. We believe Miracles do happen so we seek spiritual break through daily for all members.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
Well, this is more like a testimony. Prayerrequestweb.com was originally suppose to launch a year or two ago. Owner/Web designer wanted to give back to the society by creating this website. She however got sick for a year and faced many spiritual and physicl challenges. To God be the glory, our website was finally launched in 2007. God is never too early, or never too late. Website was completed exactly at the time predestined by God.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
People wanting to visit just to pray for someone else and ofcourse people wanting to post their problems. We all face problems in life, the challenge for most people is coming out and asking for help. At Prayerrequest web members never hesitate to ask and seek for intercession.
What was your biggest mistake?
Broken hyperlinks never help Search Engine Optimizatoion
Who maintains your website and why?
Everyone comes together to help moderate our site. If any member post inappropriate comments it is reported and deleted. We are a Christian website and we believe our lives should reflect as such.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
We are a non-profit website. We benefit each day by reaching out. The more we give the more fulfilling our lives become. If you don't believe me try dedicating at least a day a week helping someone else. Sometimes our problems seem too big for us till we help another person. You realize how shallow we can become and you even forget your problem exist.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
Ofcourse more, more and more people are going to be shopping online. Hence more hacking and fraudelent activities. Webmasters or whoever best to deal with this issue should come up with more security for people's financial and personal information.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Broken hyperlinks, spamming never help SEO.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Search Engines always would help getting your website noticed but my advice to you is to also to post on as many blogs as possible. Posting on blogs such as this directory.classifieds1000.com very very helpful. Google would most likely pick your posting on this directory. Assuming you don't spam...
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Blogs always help. Create a myspace page.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Not promoting or advertising at all. Keep trying till you succeed. Never Ever Give Up.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
What if google rotates ads each day. Let's say your website is number one for a couple of days in a week and mine is number one the next couple of days. But hey, we still trying to enlighten ourselves on how search engines really do work to be on top daily.
