Please give us a short summary of your website?
I am a corporate climber turned professional makeup artist pursuing my lifelong dream of making other people beautiful. In my blog, you can share this journey in my new career as well as learn a thing of two on makeup and skincare. Lots of before and after pics too!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
My friends and customers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The blog is my first and I started it on June 18, 2008.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Its simple and easy to remember.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
My makeup philosophy is to bring out your natural beauty using skincare cosmetics that improves your skin and looks. Beauty is not only for a few hours but the lifetime of your skin. I find many makeup artists just focus on the colours and not the skin and overall beauty.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My goal is to be able to do this for a very long time :)
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The more time I spend and money used to purchase quality products/enrol in more courses I think will better my chance for great success.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Endless possibilities
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I will regroup my network of makeup artist friends to cater for the new demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None in term of cost but there's always last minute requests from the customers.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Satisying unrealistic customers. I am a makeup artist not a plastic surgeon.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
So far word of mouth works well for me and also posting at free directories.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Not yet a year and I would continue keeping up the site as long as I am doing this fantastic career.
