What inspired you to launch your own website?
My interest in drawing and photography, extended into my interest in leather. I've always loved to draw, and capture beautiful images, so carving pictures into leather, is just another outlet for me. The intricate designs which are carved into saddles and other western pieces, for many years have held my appreciation. My respect for the durability of leather, grew from my experience, with horses and leather tack.
I learned the art of leather carving, from a Master leather carver, who has more than 40 years experience. He taught me more than just the art of using the tools. He taught me how to make a carving have depth, expression, and texture. This is what is all too often lost, in the machine embossed, mass produced products, in the market today.
Leather carving is more than a skill to be mastered, it is more of an artist's vision. Each leather product, that is created on my workbench, is a work of art. Every item is created one at a time, so there are never two, exactly the same. Creating a one of a kind work of art, is a joy for me. The reaction when a customer receives their commissioned piece is more than worth the time each piece takes to create
