We were looking for a property in abruzzo and had a lot of difficulties. You tell me how it is that there are all these people selling property there who are english who do not know the first thing about anything Italian let alone property laws.
How can these people get you on house tours, are they travel agents or what. After one morning in the car with some idiot from the west country driving a UK car,in Italy,we insisted he drive us back to Sulmona and then we hired our own car.Asked to see insurance for the car or even an MOT, complained to the so called Italian company, asked for their documents as well so we could report them.
My God its a nightmare there. You get off the aeroplane at Perscara and it reminds me of Spain a few years back, slick looking fast talking pretty people trying to sell you a house as you queue for a sandwich.
As far as i am concerned Abruzzo is a great place, but keep away from the so called estate agents. Most cannot even speak Italian.
