When did you start your website and why?
I started my website in early 2007 when I launched the business. I figured more people search for a product or service online these days rather than search the paper or phone book.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
I'm a one man business so care about the business and my customers. The website says everything I can't fit into a normal advertisement and has details and photos of my van so potential customers can see exactly what they get.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
The website was very easy to set up using the hosting company's wizzard.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
As I don't sell or have any interaction through the website (apart from emails) the website requires very little work once it's set up.
What was your biggest mistake?
I'll let you know when it's happened!
Who maintains your website and why?
I maintain it myself as it's so simple to do and requres very little time.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
Most of my business is coming from customers who have found my website through a search engine rather than any other form of advertising ...say no more, it works!
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
It's become the norm now and anyone who fails to use ecommerce to some degree will lose out to their competitors.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Brilliant!
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Without search engines I would be finding it very difficult to get enough work without spending a fortune on conventional advertising.
